DESCRIPTION: This new, 3-story structure for 890 cars provides an aesthetic addition to the WCSU downtown campus as it blends with the surrounding architecture on White Street. The structural design of this facility incorporates a state-of-the-art system against corrosion and developed for a future vertical expansion to accommodate an additional 300 cars. An enclosed pedestrian bridge, with internal exposed trusses, connects the garage to the classroom buildings on the opposite side of White Street. Interior features include three stair towers, two elevators, security lighting and phone service. The civil design component of the project included traffic signal design, access roads, major utility relocation and full time, on site, construction administration.
