DESCRIPTION: Macchi Engineers was responsible for the structural and civil design for the construction of a new 215,000 S. F, four-story, 804-car, mid-town campus parking garage on Fifth Avenue. This precast structure on spread footings was designed with a state-of-the-art protective system against corrosion. Interior features include four stair towers, elevators, security lighting and phone service.
The civil/site design included design of all access drives, sidewalks, grading, and utilities. Also included preparation of applications for STC certificate and Connecticut DEP permits. Macchi Engineers was the prime designer and responsible for all aspects of project coordination.
