Harris Pond Dam and Fish Ladder
Project Highlights
Location: Fairfield, CT
Year Completed: November 2004
Cost: $250,000
The Harris Pond Dam's existing structure consisted of a stone masonry spillway and earthen embankments. The project consisted of the replacement of the existing dam and spillway with a concrete and stone masonry spillway and training wall and obtaining local inland wetlands permitting.
Fieldstone Fish Ladder
The project included the design of a stone fish ladder that was added during the construction. The fish ladder consists of a series of resting pools created by the construction of 12 inch high stone walls approximately 5 feet apart.

Macchi Engineers provided inspection of the original dam and spillway, design of the new dam, spillway and fish ladder and provided construction administration and inspection services for the entire project.
