DESCRIPTION: The Conservative Synagogue consists of a new sanctuary, classroom and meeting areas. Macchi Engineers performed the conceptual studies and the structural design of this new two story, 21,000 SF steel framed structure with composite slab on deck floor. The lateral bracing system is composed of steel moment frames. The foundation is constructed of spread footings. The roof construction over the Sanctuary area consists of perforated insulated panels supported by Glulam Arched Trusses. The Glulam Trusses are exposed and span approximately 60 feet with concealed timber connections. Macchi Engineers also performed the construction administration and on-site inspection services.
