DESCRIPTION: Structural and civil design for a new multi-story, steel-framed building. Structural services included design of long span joist over gymnasium roof. Complicated design due to poor soil conditions requiring extensive soil preparation for placement of footings. Also provided construction administration and special inspection services.
The civil design included parking lot redesign, new walks, relocation of existing drainage, utilities, site layout and landscaping. Project required coordination with the Hartford Flood Commission.
