James Brockman has been with Macchi Engineers since 1980 and a Principal since 1986. As the Principal in Charge, he has the overall responsibility for all projects. He oversees and supervises all projects assuring careful planning, sound design and simple, practical construction methods. He also is responsible for defining scope of work, contract negotiation, quality control procedures and client liaison.
Mr. Brockman's experience ranges from conceptual design through project design and construction administration. He has extensive experience in the fields of structural, civil and transportation engineering, and brings unique expertise and capabilities to each project, including an excellent track record in design and construction administration. Some specialized areas of expertise include inspections, feasibility studies, design/build and site developments.

Michael Plickys has been with Macchi Engineers since 1989 as a design engineer of reinforced concrete, steel and timber structures for educational, healthcare, and industrial applications. Mr. Plickys heads up our structural department and is assigned as Project Manager for all structural projects. He has extensive experience in the design of columns for structural steel framed buildings to withstand the effects of wind, snow and earthquakes forces. Additionally, he has designed reinforced concrete bridge abutments for a single lane bridge using AASHTO and ACI standards, pile and caisson-supported foundations as well as reinforced concrete spread footings. Mr. Plickys develops 2D and 3D finite element models of slabs, trusses, and frames to determine design forces and stresses, and actively performs on site investigations, inspections and third party structural reviews.

Roy Seelye has more than 25 years of diversified engineering experience in all phases of planning, design and construction inspection for many municipal, site development, roadway and utility projects, including several residential developments. Mr. Seeyle heads up our civil department and is assigned as Project Manager for all civil projects. His project assignments range from Design Engineer to Construction Inspector, both as a municipal official and as an engineer in private practice. Mr. Seelye has extensive experience in civil site work involving hydrology and hydraulic analysis, storm drainage and detention basin design, utility coordination and design, subsurface sanitary disposal system design, sidewalk, driveway and parking system layout, public roadway design, maintenance and protection of traffic design and the design of permanent local and highway signing. Duties also included the acquisition of local, state and federal permits.

John Brochu has been with Macchi Engineers since 1985 and has experience in investigation and inspection of existing dams and bridges, fishway and channel improvements, utility coordination, scour analysis, watershed analysis and structural design. His project assignments range from Design Engineer to Construction Coordinator to Project Manager. He has extensive experience in all phases of field inspection and construction administration of dam rehabilitation and replacement projects. Other aspects include storm drainage and sanitary systems, spillway analysis and design, site and road construction and bridge rehabilitation. Similarly, he has experience in testing and project documentation, including the supervision of compaction testing, sub-grade inspection and reinforcement placement.

Doug Camp has been with Macchi Engineers since 1994. He has extensive experience as a Chief Construction Inspector and actively performs construction administration, full-time, on-site construction inspection and special inspection services ranging from major new construction projects to rehabilitation and renovation projects. Similarly, he is proficient in the construction aspects of various building types, site development, site utility infrastructure, construction, and bridge and roadway work. Mr. Camp is extremely knowledgeable acting as Owner's Representative in the monitoring of the construction work process to continuously review the sequencing of construction and insure construction safety. He also is experienced in the structural analysis and design of numerous concrete and steel structures throughout Connecticut. Additionally, he has experience in the design of miscellaneous foundations, tanks and pits, and completing structural investigations. Mr. Camp is certified by ACI as a Concrete Field Testing Technician Grade I, and he is extremely proficient in the use of AutoCAD.

Michael Cuevas has more than 12 years experience in all phases of structural analysis and design of numerous concrete and steel structures throughout Connecticut. Mr. Cuevas has project assignments that range from structural engineer and inspector to project manager. His experience includes the design of structural steel framed buildings and various miscellaneous and special structures, such as transmission towers. His expertise includes the use of 3D structural analysis software such as RAM Structural System, RAM Advanse, Daystar Masonry and NCMA Masonry. In addition to his structural design capabilities, Mr. Cuevas has extensive experience performing construction administration, construction inspection and special inspection services encompassing educational, industrial, institutional and commercial facilities, including the preparation of condition surveys and field reports.

John Zubal has been with Macchi Engineers since 1989 as a Structural Detailer Draftsman for educational, healthcare, and industrial applications. Mr. Zubal began utilizing AutoCAD version 10 in 1990. He has since had extensive experience in the use of AutoCAD and is currently proficient with the latest versions of AutoCAD and add on packages. Mr. Zubal's experience includes detailing and drafting construction documents for a diversified range of building projects constructed of structural steel, masonry, reinforced concrete, precast concrete and timber structures. His experience includes the management and coordination of CADD documents between structural engineer, architect and MEP disciplines.
